In the Sacrament of Confirmation, candidates are strengthened by the grace of the Holy Spirit and sealed with His gifts through the bishop’s laying on of hands and anointing with Sacred Chrism. This sacrament completes the grace of Baptism and deepens a person’s relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
As one of the Sacraments of Initiation, Confirmation calls each person to embrace the Catholic faith more fully, participate actively in the life and mission of the Church, and live as a witness to the Gospel through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
